I like Americans. The ones I’ve met are charming, generous, articulate and fun. Possibly I haven’t met many of you. 😜

Anyway, on this day, your Independence Day, I have some questions for y’all — strange little things I, as a non-American, have often pondered. Feel free to answer these questions in your own article, which I will read, thus giving you valuable read time from a paid member.

1. Why do you pronounce the name Craig as Creg?

2. When are you getting rid of your weird units of measurement and joining the rest of the world in kilometres and Celsius?

3. Are peanut butter and jelly really a good food combination?

4. Why do you call jam jelly?

5. Why do you pronounce the name Graham as Gram?

6. Do your high school students really look 30 years old like they do on TV?

7. Are you all weirdly religious?

8. Why don’t you have affordable healthcare?

9. Do you know that we Australians don’t get around inside kangaroo pouches?
