Chronic Interrupters are Dog Shit Under Your Shoes
A rant about people who interrupt while others are talking
If you want to boil the blood of a fairly laid-back and friendly person, constantly interrupt me while I’m talking.
Online “help” articles are full of tips for dealing with interruptions — let it slide, keep talking, interject with “as I was saying”.
I call bullshit.
Why should the victim of rude interruptions have to take responsibility for the actions of someone else? My online searchings did not find one single article advising interrupters on how to shut the fuck up.
When I was a kid, I was taught to wait for a pause in a conversation before I opened my trap. Unless it was an emergency like my brother was on fire. Sadly, many people are no longer teaching their kids this basic social skill. Sadly, many adults see nothing wrong with talking over others.
Well, I’m here to tell you there is something very wrong with interrupting.
I’ve taken it upon myself to write the world’s very first article (rant) with handy hints for people who choose to interrupt others. If you, dear reader, are one such person, pray read on.
