I don’t mind swearing, but used sparingly it can have way, way more impact. Like I’ll never forget the two times I heard my mum say fuck, but it’s every second word my brother in law uses, so whatever he says is a blur. Also agree with you that as writers, we can come up with something more colourful and entertaining.
