I took my Australian SIM with me to Spain but didn’t activate international roaming. Forgot I’d need it for all those secure code texts my Australian bank and other services insist on sending. Took me 6 months to get the phone company to turn on international roaming and in the end they only did it when I complained to the government agency who handles telecommunications complaints.
