I was lucky that not many people I knew died during my childhood. A few years ago, a friend of mine died months before his 30th birthday. I’d been to funerals of older people, but it’s totally different when it’s a young person. I love the Jim Carroll song. I’ve seen the Basketball Diaries film and thought DeCapprio’s performance was very good.
