I’m not religious but I don’t think the state has the right to execute people. In Australia, we’re scarred by the execution of Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, ringleaders of the Bali 9 who I guess you know about.

There are some truly heinous unrehabilitated criminals who many say deserve to die. Locking them up for life costs the state a lot of money that could be better spent elsewhere. I don’t have any answers but I still don’t think they should be executed.
