In Which I Answer 10 Questions Instead of Working on That Freelance Job

This weekend, I should be working on a freelance writing job or something for this platform that stands a chance of a boost. But it’s hot and I love answering random questions.
This writing prompt comes from Lynn L. Alexander but I found out about it when I read Roz Warren, Writing Coach’s response.

1. What is your favourite bird?
The African Grey parrot.
My neighbours have one and it’s the smartest and most delightful creature I ever saw. It knows heaps of sounds and words, from the meow of a cat to the beep of a phone to phrases in English and Spanish.
You know how there are comforting noises in and around your house? Some of them stem from childhood (like in my case, the rattle of a passing tram) and some are more recent. Like this parrot.
It’s too hot during the day but in the evening the parrot comes out onto its balcony and has a little conversation with the neighbourhood. I sure love listening to it.
