Keep writing drunk - this was good. The Irish Catholic side of my family does a good funeral - mass followed by a wake where we share stories about the departed, celebrate their life, catch up with people we haven’t seen in years and get roaring drunk. I’ve been to other sorts of funerals and they just feel empty. As for cremains, this word will not form part of my vocabulary. Sorry about your mum. I’m glad you have happy musical memories about her.
