Reverse Culture Shocks from Returning to Australia

And things I miss about Spain

A grocery bag called Tuckerbag. It’s a paper bag with a smiling face.
Even Tuckerbag is shocked by the price of groceries in Australia. Photo by me.

This January, I returned from my beloved Spain to my home country Australia. The reasons were many and varied, all boring and all financial. If only I was a data scientist with the salary to afford financial commitments in two countries.

Note: Even though there’s a colon in the above story, AI was not involved whatsoever!

Anyway, if I’m Terry T Tightarse for the next period of time, I’ll be able to return to live in Spain one day and all my troubles will be packed up in my old kit bag.

As expected and suspected, I’ve already encountered some reverse culture shocks upon returning to Australia.

I’m trying to stay positive since I’m here for the time being. And yes, there are many nice things about Australia.
