I didn’t get tickets to Bruce Springsteen’s Barcelona concert — they were sold out. I checked every concert venue in Europe — they were all sold out. And very expensive.

Despite that, it was cool knowing I was in the same city as the Boss. On Friday after work, I met friends in the neighbourhood of El Born for a quick beer and to get some new sunglasses. Apparently, Barack and Michelle Obama were in the same neighbourhood at the same time. They didn’t join us for a beer, though. I guess they had a concert to go to.

Meanwhile, 100,000 Springsteen fans queued outside Estadi Olímpic. Some of them had been there for days in hopes of getting in first and getting the best general admission position.

On Saturday night, between his two Barcelona concerts, Springsteen, Obama and Spielberg went to a fancy fish restaurant. I guess my invitation got lost in the mail. Much like my invitation to the coronation of King Charlie. I checked the restaurant’s menu. Starters cost when I’d normally pay for a main course, so I’ll have to wait to win Euro Millions before I go there.

To all those who do have tickets to a Bruce Springsteen show, I hope you thoroughly enjoy your three hours of music heaven. And next time I’ll try to get tickets a little earlier.
